Censorship and the resulting norm of self-censorship in China compel many individuals to remain continually cautious about what they say. The censorship intensified during the pandemic, yet this challenging period also provided a fertile ground for podcasts to flourish, a kind of media where people can express themselves with lower chance of being censored. Recognizing the pivotal role of free speech, I was motivated to design an optimal workspace for podcast creators and the general public to work, to meet, and to interact. This architectural endeavor seeks to make a physical manifestation of free speech in the context of China.
